A very interesting sound detecting robot kit. The four built-in microphones detect the sound source and the robot turns and moves towards it. Just clap and the robot will come to you. Clap again from another position and the robot will turn and move in that direction.

Assembly required, so if you are willing to give a kid not only a toy but some knowledge and an opportunity to tamper with technology this could be a great gift and can also serve as great educational toys.

If only it would vacuum the floor when chasing your child around the house!!!

Transform Their Rooms For The Holidays

Here are some ideas:

Mom Touch, 45, is a widow who lives with one of her children in the Takeo province. She is a professional decorates handicrafts. Since 1996, she has been using beads and other materials to make flower on woman clothes to earn a living and typically making US$2.5 each day. Decorates dress is a kind of Khmer traditional dress and people wears it during Water Festival, P’chum Ben or Khmer New Year. It takes around 7-10 days to complete each dress and its price is expensive too. Most of the people prefer hand made than machine made. She said she knows how to decorate from her mother and she has started doing that business since she was not married yet. Her son who lives with her is a car driver. He typically makes US$2 each day. Mom Touch is asking for a loan of US$600 to purchase more silk and beads to expand her business.

Moonlight Maze Hoe-Down

The usually behind-the-scenes David Javerbaum made us laugh with his new book, What to Expect When You’re Expected: A Fetus’s Guide to the First Three Trimesters. You might know Javerbaum as a Tony-nominated Broadway lyricist, but it’s more likely that you know him from his comedy work: The Daily Show, where he has spent years as both head writer and then executive producer; America: The Book for which he was also of the three principal authors; and Stephen Colbert’s A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All, for which he was the lyricist.
